Tim has more than 20 years of communications experience, including nearly a decade as a broadcast journalist. He advises management teams and boards, developing and executing multi-stakeholder strategies for high-profile corporate, financial and crisis situations. He also supports ongoing investor and media relations, and has coached more than 100 executives through media and presentation training. His expertise includes:
Transaction Communications
He advises clients in friendly and unsolicited M&A transactions, IPOs and SPACs. His experience includes: Syneos Health on its sale to Elliott, Patient Square and Veritas Capital; Aerojet Rocketdyne on its sale to L3Harris Technologies; Broadcom on its acquisitions of VMware, Symantec’s enterprise security business, and CA Technologies, and proposal to acquire Qualcomm; Neiman Marcus Group on its partnership with and investment by FARFETCH; CC Capital on its investments in Getty Images and Utz Brands, its acquisition of Dun & Bradstreet, and its acquisition and sale, with Blackstone, of Fidelity & Guaranty Life; Apollo on its acquisition of Athene; S&P Global on its acquisition of IHS Markit; Gannett on its sale to New Media and defense against an unsolicited proposal by MNG; Pinnacle Foods on its sale to Conagra Brands; CBS on its defense against a proposal by Viacom and related litigation with National Amusements; Honeywell on spinoffs of its Homes and Transportation Systems businesses; and VCA on its sale to Mars.

He advises private equity firms and their portfolio companies on transactions and crises, as well as ongoing profile-raising. Current clients include Aethon Energy, Apollo, Arcline, CC Capital, Cornell Capital, L Catterton, Roark Capital and ZCG.
Crisis Communications
He advises clients on unplanned leadership and Board changes, shareholder activism and short attacks, cybersecurity incidents, earnings surprises, regulatory actions and inquiries, and litigation.
Restructuring & Bankruptcy
He advises clients on both court-supervised and out-of-court restructurings. His experience includes: Avianca Holdings, Constellis, General Wireless (RadioShack), Homer City Generation, Libbey, Pier 1, Service King, Taco Bueno Restaurants and The Bon-Ton Stores.
Prior to joining Joele Frank in 2016, Tim worked at Prosek Partners and in firmwide PR and communications at Kirkland & Ellis LLP.
He received an MS in finance from the University of Rochester’s Simon Business School, an MA in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a BA cum laude in history from Princeton University.
