Director

Abby provides strategic counsel and communications support to companies across industries on a wide range of special situations, including mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, shareholder activism defense, leadership changes, litigation and crisis management. She also assists clients with ongoing investor, corporate communications and public relations programs.

M&A/Transactions

Abby has advised on a variety of transaction types. Select assignments include, among others: Walgreens Boots Alliance in its pending acquisition by Sycamore Partners; Nordstrom in its acquisition by the Nordstrom Family and El Puerto de Liverpool; EMCOR Group in its acquisition of Miller Electric Company; Rio Tinto in its acquisition of Arcadium Lithium; HanesBrands in its sale of Champion to Authentic Brands Group; MasterBrand in its acquisition of Supreme Cabinetry Brands; Westrock in its merger with Smurfit Kappa; Sumitovant Biopharma in its acquisition of Myovant Sciences; Coupa Software in its sale to Thoma Bravo; and Forma Therapeutics in its sale to Novo Nordisk.

Shareholder Activism Defense

Abby has worked with companies in public and private activist situations opposite some of the most notable activist investors, including Ancora Advisors, Barington Capital, Sarissa, Starboard Value, Trian and Vision One.

Crisis Communications

Abby has experience assisting management teams and boards of directors with crisis preparedness and responses related to a range of issues, including unplanned leadership changes, litigation, regulatory inquiries and investigations, data breaches, facility closures, workforce reductions, earnings surprises and financial restatements.

Investor Relations

Abby works with clients to develop and enhance ongoing investor and corporate communications programs, including quarterly earnings preparation, investor conferences, annual shareholder meetings, profile-raising, thought leadership and internal employee communications.

Abby joined Joele Frank in 2021. She earned a BA in Communications and Human Development/Applied Psychology with a minor in Economics from Boston College.
